How are moving costs calculated?
Our moves are billed hourly, so you only pay fro the time our crew is actively working. During your estimate, we'll discuss your move and provide a realistic price range min and max. A $150 booking fee reserves your move date and includes the truck, insurance, furniture protection, and moving equipment- so there are no hidden surprises on moving day.
How should I prepare for my move
Having everything packed and ready before we arrive helps your move go faster, which can save you money since we only charge for time worked. Make sure all boxes are packed, all animals put away, be ready for us at the door and the move will finish quicker than normal!
What items can't be moved?
For safety and liability reasons, we cannot transport hazardous materials, explosives, firearms, ammunition, propane tanks, flammable liquids, or illegal items. We also recommend that customers personally transport cash, jewelry, medications, passports, and other important documents.
Do you move pianos or safes?
Yes, we can move certain safes and pianos depending on their size, weight, and accessibility. Please let us know in advance so we can arrive with the proper equipment and crew.
Are you guys insured?
Yes. We carry insurance and take every precaution to protect your belongings. While damage is rare, we have procedures in place to address any concerns should they arise.
Do you disassemble and reassemble furniture?
Yes. We can disassemble and reassemble most standard furniture, including beds, dining tables, and other large items when needed. At no added cost.
Can you move large or heavy items upstairs
Yes, as long as it can be done safely. Please let us know about oversized or especially heavy items before your move so we can bring the proper equipment and crew.
What happens if an item is damaged during a move?
Will you disconnect or reconnect appliances?
While rare, if you believe an item was damaged during your move, please notify us within 5 days so we can review the claim. If a customer declines recommended protective materials or services (such as moving blankets, stretch wrap, mattress bags, or other protective equipment), Just A Minute Movers cannot be responsible for cosmetic damage or normal moving related wear that could have reasonably been prevented by the declined protection. Customers may be asked to acknowledge this decision before the move begins.
We help do this for washers, dryer, most fridges and deep freezers, other than that for liability reasons we do not touch gas lines, plumbing, electrical wiring or built in appliances.
What's your cancellation policy?
We understand that plans can change. If you cancel your move less than 24 hours before your scheduled move time or on day of your move, 50% of your booking fee will be refunded to help cover the scheduling and preparation costs incurred.
For the truck fee it says it includes miles so that's unlimited?
Your booking fee covers the moving truck, fuel, insurance, professional moving equipment, and up to 50 miles of travel. If your move requires more than 50 total miles, an additional $1.50 per mile will be charged for each mile over the included mileage. We'll always be transparent about any additional mileage charges before completing your move.
When is payment due?
Payment is due in full immediately upon completion of your move, unless other arrangements have been agreed to in writing before your move date. If payment is not received Just A Minute Movers reserves the right to charge $25 for every day the payment hasn't been received
What if I forgot to include items when booking my move?
To provide an accurate estimate, we ask that customers disclose all items that need to be moved when booking. If additional furniture, appliances, boxes, or other items are added on moving day that were not previously disclosed, your move may require additional labor, equipment, truck space, or time. As a result, your final cost may increase based on additional time and services required.
